for a being a man who favors his ways over changes, there's been a lot of adjustments in his lifetime. while his childhood was nothing out of the ordinary from an outsider's perspective, soyeon was navigating the world with a body that didn't match his brain and a brain that was often told didn't match society. learning to exist in spaces without taking up too much space was taxing for a young man, but he managed like always.soyeon was born in daegu, south korea and soon after moved to tampa bay after his father accepted a job opportunity in the west. something about a family friend and their work. the details never mattered. what did was that the cha's were comfortable, and who was soyeon to question what was tried and true? the family would stay there even after soyeon's departure post-graduation.despite his beginnings being so smooth on the outside, soyeon struggled a lot mentally. between an early adhd diagnosis on the backburner for his parents and his identity ever wavering in his days, the stability he had was found in his parents and their lack of knowledge. for his adolescence he stayed quiet regarding his sense of self and attempted to work around the confusion rather than tending to it in any way. this proved rather easy with parents in the dark. with a nonexistent circle, there was no vocabulary to pinpoint how he felt.following soyeon's high school graduation, he picks up and moves north to alberta, canada. he's accepted into the university of calgary and graduates with his bachelor's in business, to no one's surprise. over the course of these four years soyeon finds himself a healthy group of friends that help him bloom and further discover himself, coming out to these individuals and his classmates in his sophomore year as transgender. this is received well and he's thankful for it, often tracing his steps back to this time in his life with fondness. soyeon's affirming care is life changing and comes quicker, easier, than anticipated. on the pessimistic end of things, soyeon just assumed the worst from the media's portrayal of everything, but with the right provider he was able to get his hands on his hrt quickly with top surgery following soon after. only at twenty three does he really feel at home in himself.this smoothness, this ease, follows soyeon after graduation when he's moved back to korea for work. it's almost boring from there, but he'd never complain. always going through the motions without a question, soyeon is swept into his dailies like any other adult. he's moved in soon enough, he's working a nine to five, he's in bed by eleven. it's nothing exciting. in fact, it's reminiscent of his school days. waking up and completing tasks day after day. routine is one of soyeon's favorite things, most people who know him would be able to relay this, but monotony is monotony. it's gotten to the point where he needs to break free of this round track he's made for himself.

ㅤHABITS :ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ——— ㅤ oftentimes a small tin of putty will be found in soyeon's pocket , or a worry stone. if he's not holding something, his hands hover high or hold each other behind his back because standing idle is not his thing.ㅤHOBBIES :ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ——— ㅤ crossword puzzles, sudoku, and wordle are his morning papers! painting by numbers and "adult" coloring books wind him down. it's the process of being led through something.ㅤSTYLE :ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ——— ㅤ soyeon’s closet leans toward a melancholic scheme in terms of color- think the twilight series and its blues. in no way is he as moody or tasteless as an early 2000's bella swan, though he isn't much like rosalie either. his clothes are minimalistic! lots of boxier cuts, soft collars, subtle embroidery … as often as he can access it; slow fashion. it’s simple, breathable, and made to be dirtied- or at least easy to tend to.; this is how he rolls in terms of comfort.ㅤLIKES :ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ——— ㅤfishing , reupholstery , cycling , sealed terrariums , timed puzzles , the chill of winter , routine , paint chips , his stamp collection , tying knots , the grounding feeling of working with a typewriter , the act of doing laundry , a fresh haircut .
